According to reports, not all planned software functions will be available at the market launch. Also the planned software update capability over the air (OTA) is not supposed to work for the time being, at least for the first update the car has to be brought to the garage.
Even one of the computers in the car (“Icas3”) does not reach its target values, according to internal documents that were sent to the weekly magazine “Der Spiegel”.
According to current planning, the ID.3 is to be launched on the market initially with a reduced digital offering. First-time buyers should be able to download missing functions later via software update.
