exida was founded in 1999 by Dr. William Goble (USA) and Mr. Rainer Faller (Germany). Goble and Faller are among the leading authorities in the field of Functional Safety.
They recognized the growing need for companies operating in the safety domain to become more knowledgeable about the requirements for safety related applications.
exida has evolved over the years from two offices in the USA and Germany to a global support network.

exida provides qualified customers with certification to a number of functional safety and security standards, such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 26262, ISO 13849, IEC 62061, and the ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISCI). We have certified more process safety devices to IEC 61508 than any other agency worldwide.

exida’s engineers participate and have voting rights on the IEC and ISA committees and regularly speak at leading industry conferences. As a result of its involvement in key safety committees, exida is at the forefront of the industry in developing training, tools, and knowledge resources to help you better understand and measurably improve the safety, security, and reliability of your processes and automation systems.

Thanks to the experience of exida‘s employees in the automotive sector, that comes almost exclusively from large reputable automotive companies, and the experience that exida has gained in the automotive domain, confirmed by our customers, exida provides not only excellent know-how in management of functional safety and safety engineering, but can also offer the knowledge and experience of automotive experts for deep functional understanding.
